STATEMENT Regarding the electronic Liberty Dollar (eLD)
Want to 2.5XY$?
ATTENTION: Liberty Dollar is a private voluntary barter currency. It
protects your purchasing power. It does not violate Section 486
as it is not intended to be used as "Legal Tender", "Current
Money" or "Coin".
NOTICE: If you are not familiar with the FBI Raid on the Liberty Dollar
in 2007, please click HERE
or scroll down to the History section
and read the summary. This Statement is our effort to fully inform you about
the Liberty Dollar. Please do not proceed until you have read this whole Statement.
The NEW electronic Liberty Dollar (eLD) is significantly different from
the original eLD introduced in 2002 although several key features remain unchanged.
One thing that is similar to the OLD eLD is that this NEW eLD is introduced
at the $20 Silver Base and just before the Liberty Dollar will DOUBLE+ to the
$50 Silver Base. That means, right now, you can get eLD at the current $20 Silver
Base and your money will increase TWO AND HALF TIMES when the Liberty Dollar
Moves Up to the new $50 Silver Base, which will most likely happen on Easter
Sunday, March 23. 2008.
Want to 2.5XY$?
One of the most important differences between the OLD and the NEW eLD is price. Right now
any Liberty Associate can "lock-in" $20 Liberty Dollars backed by one ounce of .999
fine silver for only the spot price of silver plus 10% on mail orders or 15% if ordered online
to cover our 5% merchant fee. For example: If silver spot was $18.00 per ounce the Liberty
Associate exchange rate would be $19.80 and you would have $20 eLDs backed by one ounce in your
eLD account. And when the Liberty Dollar Moves Up to the $50 Silver Base you will have $50 in
your account still backed by one ounce of silver! Want to
2.5XY$?
This reduction in cost to you had been accomplished by separating the cost
of metal from the cost of fabrication and overhead. The ten percent (10%) simply
covers the metal cost. When you wish to redeem your eLDs in Silver Libertys
you simply surrender your metal and pay the fabrication and overhead costs.
Please note Redemption below for the full details.
Another major, and very important difference is in online usage of eLD! As
an e-currency that is 100% backed by silver, eLD can be used online at the current
spot price of silver, without affecting its redeemability in any way! Each $20
eLD can still be redeemed for one ounce of .999 fine silver in specie form:
a $20 Silver Liberty! And with the Move Up to the $50 base now appearing imminent,
that means that when you redeem your eLDs for specie, your tradable value (see
Tradeable Value, Below) increases by TWO AND A HALF TIMES what it was originally!
(See Redemption, below) Meanwhile, you can enjoy spending
eLD at spot value, just like every other valid e-currency!
Merchants can use eLD's new Integrated Payment System to accept eLD at the
current spot value right on their websites! And, since eLD can now be converted
to easily accessible FRNs (see Convertability, below), this means
that Merchants can either keep and use the eLD or convert it to government money in their own
bank accounts.
The most important similarity is that the eLD remains 100% redeemable in specie,
(i.e. silver) because every $20 eLD is 100% backed with one ounce of .999 fine
silver stored in an independent warehouse. In fact you have a choice of four
sizes/denominations. Please note that as silver raises in terms of its USD value
the economics of minting prohibits redemption below face value in the fractional
sizes when the silver spot price is above $30 per ounce. But you can always
redeem your silver in one ounce Silver Libertys with a face value of $50 by
paying the fabrication and overhead costs... unless the Liberty Dollar has Moved
Up to the $100 Silver Base, then it will be available in $100 Silver Libertys
or the current Silver Base.
TERMS: The NEW eLD provides you with a Digital Warehouse Receipt (DWR)
that was pioneered by the original electronic Liberty Dollar (eLD). Please click
HERE to read the article that defines the DWR.
The complete "Terms" of the DWR for the new eLD are:
TERMS
THE LIBERTY DOLLAR IN ELECTRONIC FORM IS AN EXPRESSION OF A PERPETUAL DIGITAL
WAREHOUSE RECEIPT FOR ONE (1) TROY OUNCE OF .999 FINE SILVER PER STATED BASE
VALUE STORED AT A PRIVATE LOCATION AND SHALL EXPIRE WHEN SURRENDERED. BERNARD VON NOTHAUS
HEREBY CERTIFIES THAT THIS SILVER IS STORED AT A PRIVATE LOCATION AND ALL FEES FOR STORAGE
AND INSURANCE AGAINST FIRE AND THEFT ARE PAID. ADDITIONAL FEES LIMITED TO FABRICATION
AND OVERHEAD COSTS WILL BE INCURRED UPON SURRENDER OF THIS DIGITAL WAREHOUSE
RECEIPT FOR SILVER.
The Digital Warehouse Receipt for the electronic Liberty Dollar is by nature
"digital" and may be combined or divided into any face value amount
while the "Base Value" remains 100% backed by one Troy ounce of .999
fine silver until surrendered for silver or exchanged at spot price into FRN.
Please note the current "Base Value" is "$20 Silver Base"
and that the Liberty Dollar will Move Up to the "$50 Silver Base"
when the 30 day moving average for silver stays over $16 for 45 consecutive
calendar days.
Storage: Another very important change has been made to storage. As
you should be aware, all the gold and silver that backed the paper warehouse
receipts and the OLD electronic Liberty Dollar was confiscated by the US government
on November 14, 2007. So the NEW eLD is 100% backed by a private party.
Given the government's past misbehavior, we can all appreciate this change of
storage. But that does not mean the Liberty Dollar is risk free. There is always
some risk and you should consider that before putting any significant money
into Liberty Dollars. All silver held at the National Fulfillment Office in
Evansville is silver outside of the audited silver that backs the eLD. At no
time will any silver backing the eLD be outside of this storage.
Convertibility:
Another exciting development with the NEW eLD is it's convertibility into
to US Dollars! Now you can "lock-in" spendable Liberty Dollars and convert
them to USD on demand. Liberty Associates can exchange USD for Liberty Dollars
at Spot+10% and convert them back to US Dollars through LibertyWallet.com! WOW.
Now you can profit from inflation with the "inflation proof" eLD.
Simply by registering for a user account with LibertyWallet.com, you will receive
an e-wallet account with a Visa Debit Card that can be used at any Visa ATM
and Merchant worldwide! You can fund your Liberty Wallet by converting eLD back
to USD at spot, credit card and many other ways. LibertyWallet.com will convert
your eLD back to US Dollars or National Currencies through your Visa card. A
transaction fee may apply.
LibertyWallet.com will also trade eLD for other e-currencies
or you can convert e-currencies into eLD that can be exchanged into
US Dollars at the silver spot price! Please note there is a two dollar ($2.00)
fee when you request a check via mailed. Bank Wire from your Liberty Wallet
to your Domestic US Bank Account is $30.
Redemption: Another important feature that differentiates the Liberty
Dollar from other digital currencies is that it can be redeemed and used in
specie form, i.e. metal, on demand. We all like the "feel" of the
Liberty Dollar. Plus its beauty is greatly appreciated too. But it is the ability
to redeem your money into metal that is key to the Liberty Dollar difference.
So we are very pleased to offer full redemption in four sizes/denominations
after the Liberty Dollar Moves Up to the $50 Silver Base: one ounce $50 Silver
Libertys, two-fifths $20 Silver Libertys, one-fifth $10 Silver Libertys and
one-tenth $5 Silver Libertys. Simply click the "Redeem" tab and enter
the Face Value amount in Liberty Dollars for the denominations you wish. Your
total amount including the fabrication and overhead costs will be calculated.
Click "approve" and we will ship your order ASAP. Due to minting time,
the first redemption will commence 60 days after the Move Up. Normal delivery
time for redemption remains 30 days.
Do the math and you will see that the actual FRN costs are lower than the current
RCO/Liberty Associate rates as we strive to keep costs down and maintain the
highest quality product while silver goes through the roof.
$50 Example: The cost to redeem two $50 one ounce Silver Libertys is two times
face value plus two times the fixed fee of 15: 2 X 50 + 2 X 15 = $130 eLD. Actual
cost at $40 silver expressed in FRN is (40/50 X 130)/2 = $52.00 each in FRNs.
$20 Example: The cost to redeem three $20 two-fifths ounce Silver Libertys
is three times face value plus three times the fixed fee of 9: 3 X 20 + 3 X
9 = $87 eLD. Actual cost at $35 silver expressed in FRN is (35/50 X 87)/3 =
$20.30 each in FRNs.
$10 Example: The cost to redeem five $10 one-fifth ounce Silver Libertys is
five times face value plus five times the fixed fee of 4.50: 5 X 10 + 5 X 4.50
= $72.50 eLD. Actual cost at $30 silver expressed in FRN is (30/50 X 72.50)/5
= $8.70 each in FRNs.
$5 Example: The cost to redeem ten $5 one-tenth ounce Silver Libertys is ten
times face value plus ten times the fixed fee of $3 eLD: 10 X 5 + 10 X 3 = $80
eLD. Actual cost at $25 silver expressed in FRN is (25/50 X 80)/10 = $4.00 each
in FRNs.
$1 Example: Specie or paper certificates are not currently available.
It is obvious that getting silver at the lower range is much better than silver
at $30 or $40 per ounce. Please get as much silver NOW as possible. It is also
obvious that as the price of silver rises the reward declines and the fractional
sizes will cease to be available below face value when silver is over $30 per
ounce. We reserve the right to revise these fees without notification.
PLEASE NOTE: While the Liberty Dollar is in the current 45 day slot to Move
Up to the $50 Silver Base, no redemptions are permitted, simply because we just
don't have the time plus we are changing dies to the new $50 Silver Base. Redemptions
will be accepted immediately following the Move Up. Due to minting time, fulfillment
will commence within 60 days after the Move Up.
Tradable Value: Every new $50 2008 Silver Liberty in specie form now
bears the acronym: MSRP for "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price".
When you hold a $50 Silver Liberty in your hand, you're holding an item that
"retails" for $50. Therefore it is worth $50 in barter or trade. Since
Liberty Dollars are not intended to be "legal tender", "current
money" or "coin", this accounting methodology of tradable values
protects the use of the Liberty Dollar from being criminal or fraudulent by
affirming the tradable value at which it can be bartered on a voluntary basis
by consenting adults.
Backing: As mentioned, the NEW electronic Liberty Dollar is now 100%
backed by silver held by a private party. Currently every $20 Liberty Dollars
is 100% backed by one ounce of .999 fine
silver stored by a private party. When the Liberty Dollar Moves Up
to the $50 Silver Base, every $50 Liberty Dollars will be 100% backed by the
same ounce of silver stored at a private party and the Face Value in Liberty Dollars
in all accounts will be revalued by TWO AND HALF TIMES. For example: If you
had $100 eLDs at the $20 Base, your eLDs will be revalued to $250 Liberty Dollars
at the $50 Base.
Audit: The eLD account will be audited by a CPA on a monthly basis and
posted to our web site. All eLD will remain 100% backed.

History:
The Liberty Dollar was introduced on October 1. 1998 by Bernard von NotHaus,
its monetary architect, and a group of concerned Americans. For nearly ten years
the government replied to inquiries by investigative reporters that the Liberty
Dollar was legal.
Then on September 13, 2006 the US Mint posted a warning that alleged the "use"
of the Liberty Dollar was illegal and violated USC Title 18, Section 486.
For six months we made inquiries as to what action might happen or what action
we should take. Nothing. So on March 20, 2007 Bernard von NotHaus representing
Liberty Dollar el al filed a federal lawsuit against Henry M. Paulson, Jr.,
Secretary of the Treasury, Alberto R. Gonzales, Attorney General of the United
States, and Edmond C. Moy, Director, United States Mint. The suit sought a declaratory
judgment against the government's slanderous statements, allegations of criminal
activity, damage to its business, fear and discomfort to me, the Liberty Dollar
staff, their families, currency holders, supporters and RCOs who all felt at
risk to adverse government action. People did not know what to expect and were
sincerely afraid of the government, given past experiences, many with damn good
reason.
The lawsuit proceeded through the usual legal process of motion and counter
motion and then on November 14, 2006 the other shoe dropped when the FBI and
Secret Service raided the peaceful National Fulfillment Office in Evansville
Indiana. The government also raided five other places including the warehouse
in Coeur d'Alene where all the gold and silver that backed the paper warehouse
receipts and OLD electronic eLD was stored. Everything was confiscated. Even
the coining dies. The Search and Seizure Warrant even included the coining presses!
It is obvious that the government really does not know what they are doing or
what the Liberty Dollar was doing! But they did great damage to the Liberty
Dollar and many people have been harmed.
If you have any paper certificates or OLD eLD, you have been harmed by the
government raid on the warehouse and confiscation of your property. You are
encouraged to sign up for the Class
Action Lawsuit and get your property back. Please do not let the government
steal your property. You did nothing wrong! The metal they confiscated from
the independent warehouse is your property! Demand it be returned to the warehouse
so you can redeem your certificates and/or eLD!
Due to the public and patriotic outpouring of resentment and anger over the
dead-brain raid, greatly increased publicity and many donations - the Liberty
Dollar lives! In fact, the steadfast Regional Currency Offices (RCOs) immediately
demanded more product for their local merchants and supporters.
So Liberty Numismatics quickly responded with the new 2008
Liberty Dollar designed with MSRP and PVBC. Soon after that the price of
silver exploded and the Liberty Dollar entered the 45 day slot to Move Up to
the new $50 Silver Base. Due to demand, a new electronic Liberty Dollar (eLD)
was introduced in February 2008.
Special appreciation goes to Congressman Ron Paul who introduced the Free
Competition in Currency Act on December 13, 2007 and again addressed Congress
on February 13 in support to Legalize Competing Currencies. Please note this
government action is really not necessary as the Liberty Dollar currency is
not illegal!

Questions: If you have any questions please refer to the Q&A section
on the eLD site. If your question is not answered, please email it to Question@LibertyDollar.org
and we will do our best to reply. Please understand that due to the raid and
all the legal demands, our response may be delayed. You may be better served
by contacting an RCO.

at a time.
